Gud Body Lotion from Burt’s Bees – Review

One of the things I miss most from conventional products are the good smells! In terms of body lotions, I used to love some of the scents from Bath & Body Works. I’ve tried a few of the more natural lotions, but often times they leave me a bit disappointed in the scent department.

At a recent trip to Ulta, I saw this new gud lotion from Burt’s Bees (and it’s actually güd, with the two dots on top). It wasn’t very expensive and generally I really like Burt’s Bees products, so I decided to give it a shot!

The scent I got was Vanilla Flame. I have to say, this is the first more-natural body lotion I’ve purchased that doesn’t leave me longing for it’s conventional counterpart! I love the scent of this one. The scent reminds me a lot of Bath & Body Works Rice Flower & Shea, which I love. The güd lotion also has the vanilla overtones as well. Mmm-mmm.

The texture is really nice and it moisturizes well, as I think most lotions on the marketplace do nowadays anyways. I’m anxious to try more products in this line just based on the fact that they don’t contain parabens, pthalates, or petrochemicals AND they smell good. They even make shampoo and conditioners!

The güd website is really cute, too. I browsed around for a bit to check out this new line for Burt’s Bees. At the time I was browsing, they were trying to get the word out about their new line and were offering freebies. You might want to go check them out to see if they still are!

Unless something else piques my interest in the meantime, when I run out of this lotion, it is definitely something I’ll repurchase. Currently, the body lotion also comes in Floral Cherrynova and Orange Petalooza. I’m anxious to see how these other scents smell!

For me, this lotion is a ‘hit!’ If you try it out, I’d love to know what you think.
