Live Clean Baby Shampoo and Wash – Review
I have been much more conscious of products I use, this time around on my little one. I had no idea the harmful carcinogens that were allowed in baby products (i.e. Johnson & Johnson’s–though I think they have recently cleaned up their risky ingredients). Just plug a few of the biggest brands in the EWG Skin Deep Database. It is really scary! A lot of the products I have found that are without the harsh chemicals, just don’t smell like a baby to me. They smell more like strong essential oils. This is a nice smell, but just not one of my favorites on a baby.
I have finally found one that I really like and it is super affordable. The Live Clean product line is made by a Canadian company. Their baby line consists of this shampoo and wash, baby lotion, diaper ointment, non-petroleum jelly and bars of soap. The shampoo & wash smells so good. It has a light baby powder and lavender smell that is really mild. The scent lasts well into the next day. It is clinically tested and a tear-free formula. It makes baby’s skin and hair soft and smelling so so good. It is made with purified water and certified organic botanicals of chamomile, lavender and aloe.
Here are a few other stats that are really important:
98% plant ingredients
SLS/sulfate, paraben, petroleum, DEA, phthalate and phosphate free
Never tested on animals
So back to the affordable part, the shampoo & wash was $6.99 and is sold exclusively at Walgreen’s. Also a little goes a long way. I just love this stuff and can’t wait to try the other products in their line up. If you sign up for their newsletter you will get access to news and promotions and a $1 off coupon to be used on any of their products.
Give this a try the next time you run out of your little ones’ wash and want to try something new and safe! Or if you are like me and just want to use for yourself as a body wash. It really smells great!
This product and product line is currently not listed in the EWG or GoodGuide. It does contain a fragrance (one of my favorite parts), but the company and packaging state it is pthalate-free. I did check out their facebook page and it appears they have addressed the inquiry about their fragrance and this was the companies response…
“Thank you so much for your inquiry. Live Clean uses only “phthalate free” fragrances in our products, which is the concerning ingredient within fragrances or “parfum”. Where possible we have used natural fragrances from essential oils as we did with our new Fresh Face lineup. As we continue to evolve we will certainly look to offer up more fragrance free options in our line of products. Thank you for your interest in Live Clean.”
